Stephanie has been captivating audiences locally and throughout Australia with her sophistication as a performer for over fifteen years. She is at home on stage - whether this be in the intimate setting of a cozy jazz club or performing at the Concert Hall of QPAC with a full orchestra. Stephanie’s innovative approach to contemporary song and improvisation is refreshing in it’s authenticity and creativity. 

 

She is a performer who has the rare ability to engage an audience and give them a unique musical experience. Her performances reflect those who inspire her from the great jazz artists of yesteryear, together with her contemporary heroes like, Esperanza Spalding, Lizz Wright, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Kurt Elling, St Vincent and Radiohead. 

 

She approaches her music with an intelligence that belies her youth. This is demonstrated in her broad range of musical experience, a solid educational foundation through the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University and Baldwin Wallace University, Ohio, USA, together with travelling to New York to learn from some of the finest voice teachers and vocalists in the world.

 

Stephanie is a well known performer in the Brisbane jazz, festival and corporate scene, she has been fortunate to work alongside some of the finest musicians found both locally and across Australia. She has recently performed to sold out audiences at the Brisbane Jazz Club with her quintet in September, 2023 Brisbane Jazz Vocal Festival in August, Junk Bar, Wineism Bar, GOMA, Back Dock Arts, and she will be performing at the Brisbane International Jazz Festival in October 2023. 

 

Previous engagements have included performing at;  Juggler’s Art Space, David Jones, Queensland Conservatorium, Brisbane Jazz Club, Doo Bop Jazz Bar, The Bearded Lady, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland Cricketer’s Club, Brisbane Powerhouse, Gallery of Modern Art, The Hilton, NEXT Hotel, The Press Club, Cloudland, QPAC Concert Hall and QPAC Green Jam. 

 

Stephanie holds a Masters of Music Studies (Advanced Performance), Graduate Diploma of Music Studies (Vocal Pedagogy) and a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Voice) from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Australia. Here she was mentored by Dr Irene Bartlett, Lisa McLaughlin-Ryan and Dave Spicer during her years of university study. She is certified in Levels I, II and III of Somatic Voicework - The LoVetri Method from Baldwin Wallace University, Ohio, USA. 

 

Stephanie is currently studying virtually with Grammy© nominated jazz vocalist, Sara Gazerek. 

Stephanie has travelled to New York on numerous occasions and has studied privately with Grammy award nominated jazz artist Theo Bleckmann, together with the esteemed Jeanette LoVetri, Dr Joan Melton, Dr Triniece Robinson Martin, Davin Young and Brenda Earl Stokes and has completed courses at The LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™ at Baldwin Wallace University, Ohio, The Jazz Workshop NYC and Berklee College of Music, Boston.
