Stephanie Taylor has forged a successful career across the last ten years as a professional vocalist and contemporary commercial music voice teacher and educator. She has become a prominent figure in the Brisbane and Australian singing community. Her vivacious energy paired with her dedication and love of music, vocal pedagogy, vocal health and working with people enables her student’s to find their optimal and best singing voice. 


Stephanie currently co-ordinates the contemporary and jazz voice area at Open Conservatorium, Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. She has been a specialist voice lecturer within the Young Conservatorium department since 2012 and takes pride in the work that her team of teacher’s and student’s produce. In addition to her role at the Queensland Conservatorium, Stephanie is privileged to be a voice teacher at two of Brisbane’s finest private schools, All Hallows’ School and St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School. She feels very fortunate to work with dedicated and driven voice student’s at both schools.


In July 2018, Stephanie travelled to the United States to study at The LoVetri Institute of Somatic Voicework, Baldwin Wallace Univeristy, Ohio, USA. She studied with esteemed voice pedagogue Ms Jeanette LoVetri, together with a dignified faculty of laryngologists, music directors, speech pathologists and voice educators and completed all three levels of the Somatic Voicework course while at Baldwin Wallace University. In addition to this Summer course, Stephanie travelled to New York to learn from Grammy Award nominated jazz and new music vocalist and educator Theo Bleckmann and New York based voice teacher and jazz vocalist, Ms Brenda Earl Stokes.


In 2015, Stephanie travelled to New York and studied under esteemed voice teacher, Ms Joan Melton (NYU) together with Tony Award winning actress and vocalist, Ms Lindsey Mendez and Tony and Grammy nominated actress and vocalist, Liz Callaway. She also attended workshops at the New York Jazz Workshop. Stephanie performed in a musical theatre masterclass with Ms Anne Peckham, Chair of Voice at Berklee College of Music, when Ms Peckham travelled to Australia in 2012. 


Stephanie focuses on CCM styles and functional technique work grounded in pedagogical findings from continued reading and research. She stays firmly connected with the voice teaching community both nationally and internationally. The technical agility work which is focussed on in lessons allows Stephanie’s students to express their stories, musicality and versatility in a free and authentic manner when performing and improvising.


Her continued attendance at international and national voice conferences, voice clinics, workshops and masterclasses, together with taking personal voice lessons with teachers both in Brisbane and in the USA ensures that her teaching practice is well informed and student focussed. She is a member of The Voice Foundation (USA), NATS (USA), ANATS (AUS.) Between 2012 and 2014, Stephanie was an associate researcher and research assistant under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Irene Bartlett at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. 



Most recently Stephanie has adjudicated at St Mary’s College Choral and Vocal Competition (2018,) Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival (2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015,) St Margaret’s Anglican Girl’s School House Choral Competition (2017,)  Sheldon College Arts Academy (2016,) All Hallows’ House Choral Competition (2017, 2016 and 2015,) All Hallows’ Arts Festival (2016 and 2015,) and will travel to Mackay in October to adjudicate the 2018 Mackay Eisteddfod.



Stephanie holds a Masters of Music Studies (Advanced Performance/Pedagogy), Graduate Diploma of Music Studies (Vocal Pedagogy) and a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Voice) from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. Stephanie is certified in Levels I, II and III of Somatic Voicework: The LoVetri™ Method from Baldwin Wallace University, Ohio, USA.

Stephanie holds a current Queensland Blue Card to work with children and young people.
